On June 10 this year the Sejm approved draft changes to the Code of Petty Offences which are intended to allow spontaneous and unrestricted use of green areas defined by the local authority bodies for leisure purposes. The change is to enable using among others municipal lawns for recreational and leisure purposes and to put a stop to penalties for using these areas. At the moment it is subject to a fine up to PLN 1,000 or a penalty of a reprimand. The draft changes were directed to the Senate. The changes are to come into force within 30 days from its announcement.
